Sheds, Ports and Cabins
With the growing market and popularity of tiny homes, barn conversions (or barndominiums), storage container homes, small A-frames, bunkies or even the prefabricated home depot shed conversions, people are looking for workarounds. The design intent for these is developing low cost, small footprint buildings that meet regional code but also can grow and expand the property without repeating procedures or removing major pieces of the existing structure.
Many designs have been born out of simplicity and intention, however the goal with any design is modulation. It is my belief that good design facilitates more than just its base function.
While minimalism is the main focus of many of these homes, the scope is always based on the users needs. The key concept is the ability go from a shed to a home without backtracking your design or paying for materials or labor more than once.
